Swim Lessons

At the Dr. Tommy Macdonnell Aquatic Center, 1490 N. Elm, our swim lessons build skills, confidence and determination while learning how to be safe in the water. Swim Lessons are available throughout the summer for youth 6 months to 10 years old.

6mo-3yr (Parent and Child)

  • Water Comfort
  • Building muscle memory for beginner kicks
  • Parents will be in the water with their children

**Please note Lil' Swimmer classes are only offered on select sessions and times

Beginner 4 to 6 Beginner

Age 4-6

  • Body positioning in the water
  • Floating
  • Breath control
  • Gliding and beginning strokes

Beginner 7 to 10 Beginner

Age 7-10 years

  • Body positioning in the water
  • Floating
  • Breath control
  • Gliding and beginning strokes

IntermediateIntermediate

Age 5-years

  • Swim independently for 10 feet or more
  • Can come up for breath unassisted
  • Stroke development
  • Endurance
  • Rotary breathing 
  • Treading water

Individual Fee: $45 resident, $50 non-resident (outside of city limits of Marshfield)

Session Times: 6:15pm-6:45pm & 6:55pm-7:25pm
Levels: Beginner 4-6, Beginner 7-10, Intermediate **(There are no Lil' Swimmer classes in this session)

Weather Policy

The Parks Department may cancel, delay or postpone lessons due to inclement weather and/or thunder and lightning.  Notification will be made at least 1 hour prior to lessons. A post will be made on Facebook following notification through the Remind App.  The make-up date will be communicated though the Remind App and  Facebook.
